Introduction
Hello!
Welcome! My name is James Buckley. If you're here reading this blog, you most likely know me well enough to see me promoting this space...
Now that I have you here though, let me break it down for you: This is the place where my thoughts and opinions will be posted, hopefully as coherently as possible. There will be sports (anyone who knows me knows that 75% of my attention is paid to sports), and there will be posts about whatever lessons I find in daily life. I tend to ramble, so hopefully we'll keep that to a minimum as well.
I've had a love of writing ever since a young age. I haven't always expressed my emotions very well in a spoken manner, and it often came out jumbled or unsure if I tried. I found comfort in relaxing, and writing down the swirling thoughts I had.
Writing was my get-away! I could go anywhere I wanted, do anything I wanted and feel any way I wanted. Quite often, I'll find myself feeling a weird mix of emotions and no idea what it is I'm feeling or what.. But I've learned that if I just sit somewhere and start writing (whether a blog post, Facebook post, or even just a note to myself), I start to understand what I'm feeling. I'm not sure if that's strange or not (97% pretty sure it is), but it works to get the thoughts out of my head and somewhere I can work with them and understand myself a little better.
Sports is also something I'm very passionate about, whether it's playing or watching. Basketball in particular had my heart from a young age. Being the most fun to play with my friends, as well as the most entertaining for me to watch & analyze. Living in Utah, and reading the *GASP* newspaper every day (In elementary school nonetheless!) I read articles about the Utah Jazz daily, and became enamored with becoming a basketball writer. Ever since, I've found a network of writers who write in a way that is appealing, and i'm trying to emulate my favorite things from each of them
There isn't a point to this site.. Mostly just a place to get my words out of my head onto a format that works for me. A place where I can go to vent, or try writing about new things I've never thought to get in to. It'll be fun!
Thanks for reading,
James
P.S. A lot of you may know that my sister Shelby also has a blog she uses, which is http://lifesnotout2getyou.blogspot.com/ so check that out its awesome... BUT. I would like you all to know that I'm not copying her. I had a website/blog that I used first (jameswbuckley.weebly.com) but using this source was a lot easier to work with than the other one! So it was my idea, I'm not a idea thief.. That's what family is for!
